Looking for an engaging, experienced instructor to lead quilting or sewing classes? With over 20 years of teaching experience and a background as a former shop owner, I understand the needs of students, guilds *and* shops alike. My goal is to create memorable classes that not only improve students' skills but also help generate revenue for your guild or store by encouraging smart, in-store purchases.

 

Instructor Options

I offer a variety of flexible instruction formats to fit your needs:

  • In-Person Instruction 
    • Location: North Central Florida-based, with travel available throughout the state.
    • Student Limit: Up to 12 students
    • Fees: $350 for a half day (3 hours) | $650 for a full day (6 hours)
    • Additional Fees: Travel, lodging, food, and materials as required.
  • Virtual Instruction
    • Platform: Zoom
    • Student Limit: Up to 20 students
    • Fees: $350 for a half day (3 hours) | $650 for a full day (6 hours)
  • Hybrid Instruction (In-Person + Virtual)
    • Format: 12 students in person and up to 10 students virtually on Zoom
    • Fees: $350 for a half day (3 hours) | $650 for a full day (6 hours)
    • Additional Fees: Travel, lodging, food, and materials as required.
  • Shorter Demo/Trunk Show sessions
    • Any format.
    • Up to 30 students
    • Fees: $150 for 1 hour.

Class Offerings

With a variety of classes suitable for all skill levels, I can provide beginner, intermediate, or advanced projects, each tailored to promote in-store materials. A few current offerings include:

  • Mystery Quilts - These are my favorite classes to teacher.  The patterns are completely designed by me and meant to be simple and easy to complete in 2 days (without added borders).  These are a fun, surprise-filled quilting project with multiple options.
  • Scrap Management & Mini Projects – Ideal for those looking to use up fabric scraps and create quick, satisfying projects. Presented in several different format structures from half day, one full day or a summit style event over 3 days.
  •  Any of Jaybird Quilt designs using her Hex N More, Sidekick, Super SideKick or Lazy Girl Angle rulers.
  • Demoing Creative Grid rulers for specialty projects.
  • Customized classes - These are also available based on your shop's needs or special themes!

Teaching for Quilt Guilds: Building Community and Skills in an Intimate Setting

I love working with quilt guilds to foster a sense of community while helping members learn and grow together. My guild-focused classes are tailored to fit the needs of both beginner and experienced quilters, creating an intimate, collaborative space where members can explore new techniques, share ideas, and build meaningful connections. For in-person guild classes, I can teach up to 20 students if an assistant is provided by the guild, while virtual classes allow for up to 30 members on Zoom. I also offer hybrid sessions, which can include a mix of in-person and virtual attendees.

Additionally, I provide shorter, dynamic sessions like demos and trunk shows, running 90 minutes to 2 hours, at $200 per session. These are perfect for guild meetings, providing a chance for members to enjoy a focused demonstration or dive into a topic of interest in a condensed, engaging format.
